About EZ Auto Repairs
Plain-English guides that help California drivers understand their rights before they approve a repair.
How we write our guides
Our guides are researched and written by the EZ Auto Repairs editorial team. We work from primary sources: California statutes, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, the DMV, the Department of Consumer Affairs, CARB and local air districts. Every guide lists the sources it relies on and the month we last checked them.
We're not a law firm and our guides aren't legal advice. Where a rule is complicated or a dispute is serious, we say so and point you to the agency or kind of professional who can help.
Corrections
Rules and program amounts change. When we find something out of date, we fix it and update the date on the page.
Featured shop profiles and disclosures
Our guides don't recommend specific shops. Separately, we publish featured shop profiles. A featured shop may have a business relationship with EZ Auto Repairs, and profiles are labeled as featured. The facts in a profile, such as license status and public ratings, come from public records and third-party sites, and we link to each one so you can check them yourself.
Whatever shop you choose, featured or not, confirm its registration in BAR's Auto Shop Locator and hold it to the rights every California shop has to honor.
